Spent most of the night wide awake and reading the last two stories in 'Four Past Midnight'. Was hoping to be a bit scared by them at least, but they didn't do it for me. An entertaining read, nothing more.
To be honest, I don't find horror all that scary anyway...it's the tense psychological stuff that gets to me instead. Ghost stories, or stories about fantastical monsters are simply just that : fantastical.
Slept all day, lying in the dark. Didn't want to get up at all.
My head is still stuffed up and agony, my throat is raw and my glands are swollen. I'll have to go back to the doctor's tommorrow.
At least my room is nice and dark...I have a big black velvet curtain which shuts out all light...bit difficult to get around in though...the floor is very messy, and I'm in danger of knocking over books, cds and candlesticks etc which are piled up everywhere...or go flying on a pile of dressing up clothes/normal discarded clothes and magazines...
Perhaps I should tidy sometime??
Bah! I'm ILL!!!
Under the cut is my room at my parents in 1989 - I'd drawn all over the walls in oil pastel as a means to prevent my mother redecorating...the rest of the house was, at the time, becoming submerged in a nightmare of Laura Ashley. Eeep!!
Shortly after, it WAS redecorated...to my own specifications...grey carpet, black marble wallpaper...and all the woodwork/fireplace painted gloss black. Lots of silver candlesticks and red candles too...looked like the perfect mausoleum!!
Cool thing to note: The curtains are the same as in the office in Hellraiser...came from Habitat!! Funny to imagine Clive Barker's set dressers shopping there for a horror movie hehe!!
This is what it looked like pre-mausoleum, 1989 :
Oh, and did you spot the 'Darth Maul' mask on the mantelpiece!!!
Made it in a mask workshop a year before...my own design...d'you think I should sue??
Typical bloody art student mess, eh??
Ok, I'm off to find some painkillers...
