I'm going to be having a new bridge fitted soon as the current one is warped as hell (v. old) and a new set of strings (I think perhaps ten years is a bit excessive for my last set, but hey, value for money lol) - and I want to get a pickup fitted at the same time.
I'm getting a bit fed up with mic problems at gigs as pretty much everyone else has pickups and what not and hearing myself can be a problem - I've stopped wearing earrings on the left because of this issue... I use either a normal mic on a stand angled at the F-hole, or a drum mic clipped to the bridge.
In other news,
My husband is off to a drum convention in London weekend after next so I'm going to be doing some more recording - a Jack the Ripper song with vocals and cello part. Bit of a psycho-strings affair!
The recording will be ropey as ever as I use a crappy little program and a crappy little computer mic plugged into the soundcard. Lovely hiss! But the track should turn out well anyway and will be posted when done:)
Gig last night was fun - tho my ears are ringing.
